Jasmine is sweetly fragrant plant that thrives in full sun or partial sun; it is often grown near a wall, fence or trellis which help protect the plant from strong winds. Maintenance of jasmine is not difficult but does require you to be vigilant as the plant needs to be trained, using plant ties or by simply weaving them through trellis sections, when it is young. Fertilize jasmine in Spring before any new growth appears. In subsequent years pinch off the tips of the vines to promote branching which will enable the plant to spread around its support.
